Continue following the trail to where, a short distance further, you reach the memorial plaque that is perched in front of Mount Slesse. To this day, many pieces of the plane have not been found and still remain in the area. One issue in this area is the changing status and condition of forest service roads. Mount Slesse was first climbed on August 10, 1927, by Stan Henderson, Mills Winram, and Fred Parkes, via a route starting from Slesse Creek. It was their fifth attempt of the climb. Follow the trail as it ascends through the forest, passing through a few switchbacks as you quickly gain elevation.
The trail to Mount Slesse is located south of Chilliwack Lake Road along a very rugged Forest Service Road that requires a 4x4 with high clearance. Mount Slesse Memorial Trail is a 15.3 kilometer moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Fraser Valley E, British Columbia, Canada that features a waterfall and is rated as difficult. We had to park midway and start early.
